Flipping Typical is a site that quickly and easily lets you preview text in all the classic fonts. Great for font matching.

Here are a few web-based apps worth checking out:

Scrumy

Scrumy is a free todo list app that is extremely simple to use… so simple in fact, that you can create a public, shareable todo list instantly without even registering any information. You simply create a new todo list by entering the Scrumy url with your project name on the end like this: http://www.scrumy.com/fishproject (go ahead and play with it… it’s a junk one I just made)

Instructions: If you use Twitter, you’ll love the simplicity of Scrumy… They refer to projects as “stories” – so to create a new project you simply click “New Story”…. then to add tasks you click the plus sign next to the project. After that it’s all drag-n-drop thanks to the beauty of web 2.0. (As you type tasks they may turn grey – this simply means that the entire text won’t be shown on the sticky note unless the user clicks/hovers on it.)

Toodledo

While we’re on the subject of task managers, Toodledo is a fantasticly robust task manager that syncs with Google Calendar and has all the bells and whistles – similar to Outlook’s task manager only web-based. They offer both basic (free) and more advanced (paid) versions.

Senduit

Senduit (”Send You It”) is a free file-sharing service similiar to Rapidshare. Like it’s more popular cousin, Senduit allows you to upload a file (up to 100MB) then generates a simple url you can pass on to clients/friends/etc via email or whatever so they can easily download the file. You can also specify an expiration date for the file, (30 minutes to 1 week) at which time it will be deleted off of their server. Again, if you use Twitter, this is like Tinyurl for files rather than just links.
